The Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function, Óscar López, has received at the headquarters of the Ministry a delegation of the Alliance for Open Government (OGP), led by its new CEO, Aidan Eyakuze. These meetings are part of the work agenda that Spain has designed on the occasion of the presidency of the Alliance that, together with the representative of civil society, Cielo Magno (present at the meeting), holds until October of this year.
The meeting, in which the Secretary of State for Public Function, Clara Mapelli, has also participated, has been discussed on the celebration of the IX Global Summit of Open Government, an event that will gather in Vitoria-Gasteiz, from 6 to 10 October 2025, government representatives, civil society, multilateral agencies and experts in governance to discuss future strategies in matters such as transparency and citizen participation.
In addition, a delegation from Brazil, which will take the witness from Spain, in October of this year, at the head of the presidency of the OGP, and Stephanie Muchai (Kenya), the representative of civil society that will relieve Cielo Magno in the co-presidency, have attended this meeting in the Ministry.
This international delegation will participate in the meetings of the OGP Leadership Subcommittee on 10 and 11 in Madrid, where the financial and geopolitical challenges facing the open government community will be discussed. Spain will lead, in its capacity as co-chairman government, several of these discussions.
