The Government of Spain blocks the web ayudavalencia.es for signs of fraud

• Red.es suspends domain activity after receiving a complaint about fraudulent requests for donations via cryptocurrencies

Madrid, November 8, 2024.- Red.es, -entity attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function-- has cautiously suspended the presence of the Internet domain ayudavalencia.es due to signs of fraud and at police request.

The action has been initiated as a matter of urgency, after receiving, from the Valencia Provincial Information Brigade of the National Police, a complaint about requests from this website for fraudulent donations of economic aid, through Bitcoin cryptocurrency, for those affected by the DANA in the Valencian Community.

Immediately, and in coordination with the State Security Forces, its blocking has been formally activated so that the domain no longer has internet activity.

To speed up this process, Red.es has requested the collaboration of the main telecommunications operators in the country so that they immediately block the navigation to this website by their customers, with the aim of preventing their access and so that citizens do not fall victim to this type of cybercrime. All this has been done within the framework of the police investigation, which is continuing.

At this time of great confusion, due to the difficult situation that is being experienced, the citizens are recommended to verify the aid channels that are being set in motion, in order to collaborate in the reconstruction of the areas affected by DANA.

The Government of Spain has made available to the public a new section on the website of Moncloa and new accounts on social networks (@InfoDanaGob) to offer updated official information on the measures and aid of the plan for those affected by the DANA, as well as data on the number of victims, deployment of State Security Forces and Bodies or the situation of transport and infrastructure.
