Madrid, September 24, 2024.- The Council of Ministers has appointed, on the proposal of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, the new Secretaries of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence and for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures.
María González Veracruz, until now Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, will assume the direction of the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence. Graduated in Biochemistry from the University of Murcia, she holds a place of secondary teacher, in the specialty of Physics and Chemistry, in the Region of Murcia. She was a regional deputy for the Socialist Party of the Region of Murcia, and a member of the Congress of Deputies for the district of Murcia, as well as a member of three Federal Executive Committees of the PSOE in which she has been in charge of areas such as Science, Participation, Networks, Innovation and New Technologies.
Antonio Hernando, currently deputy director of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government, assumes the direction of the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures. With a degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in International Trade, he has practised law, specialising in the law of aliens and asylum. He has been a national deputy for the Madrid constituency and spokesman for the Socialist Group in the Congress of Deputies. She has been part of the Federal Executive of the PSOE in the areas of Municipal Policy, Institutional Relations and Autonomous Policy
