San Sebastian, September 20, 2024.- The San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF) will host next Sunday, September 22, the day ‘Alliances and investments for the consolidation of the European audiovisual ecosystem’, organized by the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures.
During the day, two round tables will be held around the challenges of the European audiovisual sector, coinciding with the current process of digital transformation that the industry is experiencing. The day is framed within the strategy of the Spain Audiovisual Hub Plan of Europe promoted by the Government of Spain for the digital transformation of the sector and as a country’s economic commitment around the audiovisual industry.
The event will be attended by the Minister for Digital Transformation and the Public Service, Óscar López, who will close the event, and the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, María González Veracruz, who will hold the opening, together with the Government delegate in the Basque Country, Maria Soledad Garmendia Beloqui. In addition, it will have outstanding personalities from the sector for the two planned discussion tables.
In the table ‘Alliances for the production of European audiovisual content in a global environment’ will participate the interim president of RTVE, Concepción Cascajosa, the executive producer of Arcadia Motion Pictures, Sandra Tapia, the executive producer of Noodles Production, Jérôme Vidal, the general director of Portocabo, Alfonso Blanco, and the secretary general of Nordvision (Nordic 12), Arne Helsingen, with the moderation of Henar León, head of innovation and grants of Prisa Audio.
The second table will deal with “The new models of business growth in the European audiovisual sector”, with the participation of Javier Valero, director of Strategic Development and Transformation Secuoya Content Group; Javier Ponce, director of the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT); María Coronado, director of the business area of the Cultural Sector at Triodos Bank; Jaime Gutiérrez-Colomer, director general of Management and Transformation of Atresmedia, and Alexandra Lebret. General Director of the European Producers Club, and will be moderated by Alberto Sanz Serrano, Director of Financing and Investor Relations of Icex-Invest in Spain.
The day is open to industry experts at the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
Both Minister Óscar López and Secretary of State María González Veracruz will arrive in San Sebastián on Friday, for the opening of the Festival. On Saturday the head of the Digital Transformation and Public Service portfolio will visit one of the offices of the Acelera SME program in the city, attend the presentation of the next season of Netflix and the Donostia Prize delivery gala.
