Madrid, June 12, 2024.- The Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service, José Luis Escrivá, met at the headquarters of the Ministry with Cielo Magno, coordinator of the Philippine organization Bantay Kita. On September 5, 2023, Spain was unanimously elected to co-chair the Steering Committee of the Alliance for Open Government (OGP) together with a civil society representative (Cielo Magno) between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025. The meeting takes place taking advantage of the celebration of the Open Administration Week and given the proximity of the beginning of the Spanish co-presidency of the OGP steering committee. Since its founding in 2011, the OGP has comprised representatives from 75 countries and 150 local jurisdictions working alongside thousands of civil society organizations. Every two years, each member presents a joint action plan with civil society outlining specific commitments to improve transparency, accountability and public participation in government. The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of State for Public Service, Clara Mapelli, and a delegation from the Alliance for Open Government.
