The Official State Gazette of January 19, 2021, published the Resolution of the Secretary of State for Territorial Policy and Public Service, appointing career officials, by the general system of free access, of the Corps of Pharmacists Holders.
The employees and public employees of the Corps of Pharmacists Holders carry out the functions and powers of the State in the field of medicines, medical devices, cosmetics, food, public health and foreign trade.
They can perform their functions in central services, in the Ministry of Health, in the field of public health; in the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Health Products, for the authorisation, regulation and registration of all types of medicines, inspection, medical products and cosmetics and in the Spanish Agency of Food Safety.
In the peripheral services, in the Health Areas under the Government Delegation in each Autonomous Community: in these are carried out tasks directed by the AEMPS concerning the inspection of industry (medicines, medical products and cosmetics), import/export of pharmaceuticals (outside the EU), inspection of medicinal genera, inspection of cosmetics on import/export, control of drugs and narcotics, laboratory analysis related to identity and purity of drugs.
For admission to the Body it is required to be in possession of the degree of Bachelor or Degree in Pharmacy
The selective process consists of opposition, competition and selective course.
The opposition phase consists of overcoming four exercises, all of which are eliminated.
The first exercise consists in overcoming a questionnaire of 120 questions.
The second exercise is a direct translation of a text in English.
The third exercise consists of the development in writing of an item chosen by the aspiring candidate from two randomly extracted from the second part of the programme, and two items from four randomly extracted from the third part of the programme.
The fourth exercise is a practical assumption proposed by the court on matters contained in the programme.
At the tender stage, the merits shall be assessed as set out in the corresponding call.
At the end of the competition phase, applicants will have to undergo a selective course of a practical theoretical nature aimed at acquiring knowledge and skills in the administration, regulation, evaluation and management of medicines and medical devices consisting of a one-month training period to be held in the Ministry of Health.
