• The facility has a self-contained electricity and internet supply and will accommodate 25 municipal employees • It will also assist citizens in the processing of grants, network access, equipment loading and technical advice • It will be available until the municipal units, disabled by DANA, come back into operation

Valencia, December 4, 2024.- The Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service has made available to the City Council of Sedaví (Valencia), one of the most affected by the recent DANA, a temporary office completely computerized so that municipal employees can serve the citizens. The equipment, located in the town’s Plaza Ausias March, has now opened its doors to officials and citizens.

These are the facilities of the travelling experience (roadshow) of the National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE), transported by truck and that in the last year have traveled the whole country disseminating good practices of computer security among citizens. Now they have been conditioned for their new functions, providing them with three spaces that house 40 jobs with laptop, table and chair, as well as three printers.

This equipment, which has complete autonomy with regard to electricity supply and Internet connection, allocates 25 posts to accommodate officials of the City of Sedaví so that they can continue their work functions; six of these posts are equipped for public service tasks. The rest of the posts are dedicated to the assistance, attention and awareness work carried out by the INCIBE dynamization team. “With this installation, we bring the administration closer to the citizen so that the aid can be speeded up and facilitate the procedures for those affected,” said the minister, Óscar López.

The temporary headquarters will be at the disposal of the City Council until the municipal units, disabled by the effects of the DANA, can re-enter into operation.

Citizen support

The services that these facilities and INCIBE employees will provide to municipal workers and citizens include:

• Network access for online procedures: secure Internet connection so that municipal workers and citizens can carry out administrative procedures, access services and stay connected.

• Care for vulnerable people and advice on aid: special support will be offered to the most affected groups, guiding them in access to resources and aid available after the DANA.

• Assistance in digital data recovery: Technical advice will be provided to those who need to recover important information lost on damaged devices.

• Help and technical advice: specialized professionals will be available to answer questions about cybersecurity and provide guidance on how to protect privacy and personal data.

• Booth for inquiries at phone 017: attendees will be able to access a booth to communicate confidentially with the INCIBE 017 Cybersecurity Helpline, where they will receive advice and support if they need it in the matters dealt with by this phone (for example, how to recover lost information, possible infections in their devices, deal with telephone or internet fraud attempts that may be reaching them…)

• Plugs for charging electronic devices: the space will have charging stations so that citizens can recharge their mobile phones, tablets and other essential devices
