Madrid, October 3, 2024.- The Secretary of State for Public Service, through the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP), and the Secretary of State for Social Rights, are working on a new order establishing general criteria to facilitate access to public employment for people with disabilities.

Specifically, it is about improving the adaptation of means and times in the selective tests to join the Administration that people with disabilities have to perform. The implementation of these adjustments is necessary to adapt the current regulation to the progress made in this area in recent years.

A period of prior public consultation on the possible content of the ministerial order is now open, from today Thursday, 3 October, until 31 October. You can participate in the public consultation process through the websites of both institutions:

The Government of Spain is working to improve the procedures to achieve inclusive employment that is the reflection of a diverse society. In July, the Ministry for Digital and Civil Service Transformation announced that one of the highlights of the 2024 Public Employment Offer it presented was achieving the full inclusion of people with disabilities. For this reason, for the first time, I had reserved a 10 per cent quota in this job offer (3,147 places, 629 of them for persons with intellectual disabilities), which was previously 7 per cent.

The Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030 points out that this ministerial order reinforces the commitment of the Government of Spain with the employment activation of people with disabilities, not only from the access to employment but for their stay as officials and officials, while ensuring their well-being and inclusion in the work environment and good professional performance. For this reason, they point out from Social Rights, in this legislature labor inclusion units have been created that will be incorporated into each ministry. Likewise, they emphasize, the measures contemplated in the White Paper “Employment and Disability” will be deployed so that the new labour market, digitalized, globalized and highly competitive, does not expel people with disabilities and offers them stability and labour rights.
