Seventh debate on "Rethinking the selection of public employment"

The sixth debate on rethinking the selective process took place on 16 February. This debate falls in love with the "Rethink selection" program, which aims to generate transformative knowledge about the selection of public employment through the debate of ideas. The program is one of the measures of the Talent Recruitment Plan developed by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Service.

Last Tuesday's debate was attended by:

  • Manuel Villoria, Professor of Political Science at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, highlighted the need to also evaluate skills and attitudes, as well as to identify real situations in the positions and evaluate the associated success behaviors.
  • Concepción Campos Acuña, Secretary of Local Administration, pointed out that from the point of view of attracting talent, it is necessary to tell what the Administration does, how from the administration one can improve the life of citizenship.
  • Iván Gayarre Conde, Partner of Sagardoy Abogados, addressed the generational gap between those in the administration and those who come. He also focused on the fact that the use of technology will be fundamental in the administration of the future.
  • Luis Pedro Villameriel Presencio, Technical Deputy Director of the Court of Auditors' Prosecution Section, proposes the modernisation of the selective process based on international experience.
  • Fuencisla Gaitero Suárez, Head of Unit of the Economic Management Service of the State Tax Administration Agency, pointed out that progress should be made in incorporating other professional profiles, such as STEM profiles that are already fundamental in the private sector.
