Published the European Commission's 2021 Report on Electronic Government

30/11/2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has stimulated resilience and innovation, boosting the digitisation of the EU economy and society, including the provision of digital services by governments.

The eGovernment report compares how governments deliver digital public services across Europe. It is an internationally recognised study that sheds light on e-government in 36 European countries by evaluating the so-called “life events” based on specific indicators. These events include government service packages that support citizens and entrepreneurs through key points of their lives, such as the birth of a child or the start of a business.

According to this study, Spain is located with an average level of penetration, which is equivalent to the European average (67%), and at the medium-high level of digitalization, forming part of the Fruitful eGov scenario, which includes the countries of its class that are above the European average.

The relative indicators of Spain show a country with almost all the characteristics (users, government and digital context) aligned with the European average. Broadband and its quality (Connectivity indicator) and Transparency, which is measured by the Open Government, are those which behave significantly above the European average.
