The video #Public Talent brings us closer to the Institute of Gypsy Culture at the hand of its Director, Diego Fernández Jiménez, who encourages all people who love Gypsy culture to set a fundamental objective in their lives, which is to work from the Administration to disseminate, to recognise and to know the culture of the Gypsy people.

The Institute of Gypsy Culture is a foundation of the state public sector promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Sport whose objectives are the development and promotion of Gypsy history, culture and language, and the dissemination of its knowledge and recognition through studies, research and publications.

By organising academic and cultural events and supporting artistic creation, the Institute for Gypsy Culture aims to gain recognition of the contributions of Gypsies to the common cultural heritage and to value the Roma as one of the backbone of Spanish culture.

The Institute of Gypsy Culture wants to bring to the whole of society the legitimate aspiration of Gypsy Spaniards to achieve the full enjoyment of citizenship by respecting their cultural identity. The implementation of projects in the educational and university field, the screening and recognition of people linked to research or solidarity in the Roma area, the publication of important works of literature in Spanish and Romanó, the dissemination of Gypsy cinema and the enhancement of identity vectors, which favor an open and plural Gypsy society, are examples of good practices that help other countries to follow the positive experience of Spain.
