Held a talent gathering day at the College of Road, Canal and Port Engineers

On September 23, a talent gathering event took place at the College of Road, Canal and Port Engineers.

In 2019, the Directorate General of Public Service launched the Talent Recruitment Programme with the aim of ensuring the incorporation of enough people in the public sector to successfully develop the best public services and publicize the work in the Administration.

The day of September 23, was held in an on-line mode and in it the President of the College of Engineers of Roads, Canals and Ports, Miguel Ángel Carrillo, highlighted the public vocation of the Road Engineers at the service of the Public Administrations and highlighted the modernizing and innovative role of a profession that plays a decisive role in the progress and well-being of society as a whole.

The General Secretary of the College, José Javier Díez Roncero, explained that almost 3,000 Highway Engineers are developing their functions in the Administration, from the state to the autonomous, which represents something more than 10% of the engineers in active employment.

Sonia Postigo, of the Directorate-General for Civil Service, explained the procedure for access to public service, which is by contrast and is governed by the principles of equality, merit and capacity. It also stressed the nature of public employment as stable employment and the important conciliation measures.

Virginia Losa Muñiz, from the Scale of Local Government Officials with National Qualifications, highlighted the role of public employees and employees who are part of this Scale that facilitate the daily life of citizens in their municipalities and highlighted that in the 8,100 municipalities existing in Spain there are a significant number of vacancies.

Rubén Amengual Matas, from the OOAA Graduate Program of the Ministry of Industry and Energy, stressed that the General State Administration offers security and guarantees in employment and other advantages such as labor mobility.
