The present report provides the results of the study carried out in fourteen museums attached to the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Spain. In accordance with the mandate of the Council of Ministers, the study focuses on an evaluation of the quality of the service provided by these museums, which is limited to the area of user perception and organizational management. On the other hand, the fieldwork was carried out in the period May-October 2007 as a cross-sectional and not longitudinal, so the results present a “fixed image” of the museums at that time.
In recent years, the fourteen museums have experienced a marked increase in their activity, both in terms of the number of visitors, exhibitions and other cultural activities.
