The Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service will allocate 200 million euros for the training of professionals in digitalization and AI

Madrid, September 3, 2024.- The Council of Ministers approved today, at the proposal of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, the Royal Decree regulating the direct granting of a subsidy to Professional Union for the development of a Training Program in Digital Skills in the field of Professional Associations.

This is one of the measures of Investment 3, Digital Skills for Employment, of Component 19 of the National Digital Capabilities Plan of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, within the framework of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, specifically its lever 4, “Fostering talent in AI.”

The amount earmarked for this grant is 200 million euros and aims to develop the digital skills of professionals. This subsidy will be granted by the public entity Red.es, attached to the Ministry, to the Professional Union, made up of 34 General and Superior Councils and Professional Associations at the state level, covering the legal, health, economic, social, scientific, architectural, engineering and teaching sectors. Together they bring together nearly 1,000 professional associations and 1.7 million professionals.

The recipients of the training actions will be, in the majority, professionals, employees and unemployed, belonging to the different General Councils and Professional Associations of the State.

The actions subject to the grant will be training in digital skills, dissemination, communication, monitoring and support of the Program, project management, auditing, legal advice, regulatory compliance, pedagogical quality and financial control, among other complementary actions.

The initiative will enable the training of 80,000 professionals, with a 150-hour training plan in hybrid format. The deadline for the implementation of the eligible activities will be 30 June 2026.
