The Statute Working Group is a preparatory body for the EU Council which aims to examine legislative proposals, provide political guidance and monitor the human resources policy of the EU institutions

This group consists of representatives of the General Secretariat of the European Council and a representative of each and every Member State of the European Union.

On behalf of Spain, a Counsellor of the so-called Public Administration Council is regularly involved in the Permanent Representation of Spain to the EU in Brussels. As responsible for staff and civil service matters, he works in constant contact with the Secretariat of State for Civil Service and the Directorate-General for Civil Service.

Meetings of this group are held at variable intervals, according to criteria of opportunity or need set by the relevant six-monthly EU Presidency.
