The Government approves the new National Technical Plan for Digital Terrestrial Television and measures to promote its technological evolution
  • The objective is to establish the legal and technical framework to introduce in the DTT service of any territorial area (state, autonomous and local) a new technology that will allow the generalization of emissions with ultra high definition (UHD) quality.
  • The new transmission technology (DVB-T2) will allow citizens to enjoy a higher quality digital terrestrial television and enables DTT providers to compete technologically with other audiovisual platforms or services, which use other transmission networks, such as satellite or Internet television.

Today the first measures of the Government Plan against Telephone Scams come into force
  • As of today, telecom operators will be required to block numbers that are not assigned to a customer, an operator, or a service.
  • Also from today the companies will be able to use the numbers 800 and 900 to make commercial calls.
  • Other measures, such as the blocking of calls and SMS with international origin, and the ban on commercial calls from mobile numbers, will enter into force on 15 May.
  • The Plan aims to provide users with tools to protect themselves against potential scams, as well as to easily identify business calls.
