The government and the unions sign the agreement for a 21st century administration that returns lost rights to public employees

The government and the majority trade unions in the civil service, CCOO and UGT signed yesterday, 19 October, an agreement that gives public employees back the rights taken away in the previous financial crisis.

The pact, initialled in a public event at the headquarters of the Secretariat of State for Public Service by the Minister of Finance and Public Service, María Jesús Montero, the head of the Public Area of CCOO, Humberto Muñoz, and the secretary general of UGT-Public Services, Julio Lxxi, includes the commitment to promote an administration of the century. A process of transformation of the public sector enshrined in the Transformation, Recovery and Resilience Plan committed to the European institutions.

Among other aspects, the agreement envisages the increase of the salaries of employees of the public administrations (AAPP) for the period 2022-2024; the recovery of rights between the government and UGT and CCOO with the reimplantation of the 35-hour day in the AAPP; the definitive elimination of the measures of the RDL 20/2012 of 13 July, of measures to ensure stability

These and other measures will enable the provision of public services to be of the highest quality at present and in the future.
