The Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service, Óscar López, met this Monday with the Minister of Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism of Luxembourg, Lex Delles, and the Minister of Digitalization, Research and Higher Education, Stéphanie Obertin. In the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry, they have addressed different issues of interest related to data management, cybersecurity, the use of Artificial Intelligence or the application of quantum technologies on the European stage.
In this context, the Spanish minister has shared with his colleagues in Luxembourg some of the progress made by the Government of Spain in these matters. Among them, it is worth mentioning the first National Strategy of Quantum Technologies, approved last April by the Executive, or the creation of the first quantum computer built with 100% European technology.
In addition, Óscar López has highlighted the creation of one of the first seven European AI Factories that will be located in the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, after Spain was chosen by the European High Performance Computing Joint Venture (EuroHPC) for its implementation, along with Luxembourg and five other countries.
During the meeting, the minister was accompanied by the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, María González Veracruz.
