Jaén, 11 october 2024.-The minister for the transformation and the civil service, oscar lópez, has announced from Jaén building an area of data at the municipal level for the management of urban infrastructures intelligent, “ a decisive step towards the innovative digitization and modernization of our cities that will help to improve public services to citizenship ”.
The project will be articulated through the spanish federation of municipalities and provinces (FEMP), who will receive a subsidy of eur 13 million to implement the initiative.
The minister Oscar López has done this announcement during a visit to Jaén and has explained that this is an initiative that will enable local entities to share data related to smart urban infrastructures, the Smart Cities'.
“ the objective is that municipalities and county councils who so wish are able to exchange data that they generate in the daily business. To that data collected in a particular public service to the improvement of other, so that lessons learned by a communal council can reuse the other entity. This innovative proposal includes an initial, three cases of use: the first, which involves an intelligent mobility, seeks to optimize the flow of traffic congestion and trying to cities with less pollution, more sustainable and efficient. The second is aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability in the management of critical resources, helping to reduce energy bill, the third case focuses on the economic and social activities of the cities, looking for more cohesive localities and better planned.

Previously Oscar López has visited the city of Martos, where Red.es Registrar collaborates with the country in a project to install intelligent pedestrian steps, meteorological stations to air quality or a smart watering system, which will be integrated with its Smart City. The project has a total budget of eur 1 million.
